Accountability and Reporting

In this section, find information about:

The accountability system for Minnesota ABE exists to ensure that ABE providers are positive and effective stewards of the public funds used to provide ABE programming. Both state and federal ABE law include provisions for required data collection and reporting, including elements such as student demographic info, contact hours and assessment results. These data elements can be used to evaluate programs and provide key information about outcomes for ABE participants across the state of Minnesota.

Accountability in Minnesota ABE is largely connected to the National Reporting System, or NRS. The NRS comprises a set of data specifications, data collection methodologies and reporting requirements established by the federal Office of Career, Technical and Adult Education (OCTAE) in order to comply with requirements under WIOA. In addition to federal requirements outlined in the NRS, Minnesota's ABE statutes include similar provisions for data collection and reporting. Information in this section can support programs in complying with both state and federal reporting requirements.
