Federal Competitive Application

WIOA requires that each state run a competitive process for federal AEFLA funds. In Minnesota this competitive process took place in the spring of 2017 and 2022, and included submission of applications from eligible providers, followed by a review process that included both official grant reviewers from within the field of ABE, as well as feedback from local workforce boards.

The funds awarded through the federal competitive application were awarded for a period of 6 years, so it is anticipated that there will be another federal competition in the spring of 2028.

The narrative questions from the federal competitive application (spring 2017) are available in this Federal Competitive Application, Narrative Questions document.
